Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Art Granado. I retired from the Military with over thirty-seven years of Service. I achieved the Rank of Command Sergeant Major [E-9]. I am a Veteran of the following Campaigns: Viet-Nam; Desert Storm; Iraq and Afghanistan. I have been working on an issue through the Merced County Board of Supervisors for the past ten months. The issue has been the Unequitable and Safe Use of the Veterans Memorial Building located at [939 W. Main Street Merced, CA. 95340] - by All Veterans and Vet Organizations. The Memorial Building was Built and Dedicated in 1929 for the Soldiers; Sailors; Airmen and Marines returning home. The purpose in using the Memorial Building was to allow All Veteran Organizations and All Veterans to have a Safe place to gather and seek the advice and services provided by various Veteran Organizations’. It was just as important for this location to provide Veterans with a safe place to share their personal experiences and stories without threats and intimidation. We have all lost this place [the Veteran Memorial Building]. There has not been a Lease Agreement for the Equitable and Safe Use of the Memorial Building. The Board of Supervisors (Specifically District 2 Supervisor) has dragged their feet on establishing this Lease Agreement. I am asking for All Veterans in Merced County and those Veterans who can hear by request to stand up and be heard. Reach out to All Veterans and tell them what is happening and then call your District Board of Supervisor and “Demand” that something be done. As Veterans we once stood up to the “Call of Duty” now, let us stand up for the right to gather in a Safe and Equitable Use of the Veteran Memorial Building in the City of Merced, CA.
You can always reach out to this blog for additional information.
Remember what the Command Sergeant Major “Said”…
